The Asanteman Association of Georgia proudly hosted a historic and colorful enstoolment ceremony on Saturday, August 23, 2025, marking a new chapter in the community’s cultural and traditional leadership.
The event celebrated the installment of Opanin Appiah Bawuah Bonsafo as the new Asantefuo Hene (Chief of Asanteman in Georgia) and Madam Akosua Ageiwaa Agyeman as the new Asantefuo Hemaa (Queen Mother of Asanteman in Georgia).

The ceremony, attended by chiefs, queens, dignitaries, and community members, was filled with rich displays of Asante culture and tradition, reaffirming the community’s commitment to preserving and promoting its heritage in the United States. Notable attendees included: Members Asanteman Associations of the Carolinas led by their Asantefuohene Professor Nana Adusei Danso Abeam and former Asantefuohene of New York, Nana Amponsah.

In his first public remarks as the newly enstooled chief, Nana Appiah Bawuah Bonsafo expressed gratitude and a vision of unity and service:
“This honor bestowed upon me today is not mine alone, but a responsibility shared with every member of our community. Together, we will strengthen our bonds, preserve our culture, and build a stronger foundation for generations yet to come.”

The new Queen Mother, Nana Akosua Ageiwaa Agyeman, was also recognized for her dedication to women, youth, and cultural advancement, symbolizing the vital role of women in leadership and community development.

The enstoolment underscored the Asanteman Association’s commitment to cultural continuity, leadership, and the empowerment of Ghanaians in Georgia and across the United States.
