Ghana manager Otto Addo has unveiled his squad for the Black Stars’ final fixtures in the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign, with several notable inclusions amongst the call-ups for matches against Central African Republic and Comoros.
The selection features the return of Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who has been absent from international duty since sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in November. The 21-year-old had been in excellent form for the Championship side before his lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Defender Alidu Seidu has also been recalled following his recovery from a knee problem that had ruled him out since November last year. His return provides a boost to Ghana’s defensive options as they seek to secure qualification.
French Ligue 1 side Nice’s Kojo Peprah Oppong, aged 21, receives his call-up after an encouraging campaign in France. The midfielder previously played for Attram De Visser in Ghana’s Division One League before making the move to European football two seasons ago.
Medeama SC’s Prince Owusu earns his maiden international call-up following his strong performances in the Ghana Premier League this season.
The Black Stars face Central African Republic on 8 October at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes in Morocco, with the fixture taking place at a neutral venue. Ghana then host Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on 12 October.
Ghana currently top Group I with 19 points from eight matches and are pursuing qualification for their fifth World Cup finals. The four-time African champions require positive results from their final two qualifiers to guarantee their place at the expanded 48-team tournament in North America.
