Kim Kardashian always takes Halloween seriously. “The Kardashians” star wowed fans after she shared a clip on her Instagram account of her looking unrecognizable as the mutant Mystique from the “X-Men” franchise.
Shared on Saturday, October 29, the video saw the 42-year-old star unveiling her 2022 Halloween costume. The SKIMS founder was seen wearing a skintight blue latex catsuit featuring textured scales, bustier paneling, gloved sleeves and on-trend heeled pantaboots.
Going all out for her transformation into the Marvel shape-shifter, the mom of four had her entire face painted in the same vibrant shade as her blue bodysuit. She completed her villainous look with yellow contact lenses and slicked-back red hair.
Friends and fans showered Kim with praises for her take on the mutant, which was portrayed by Rebecca Romijn in 2000’s “X-Men” and the two sequels that followed, “X2” and “X-Men: The Last Stand”. Jennifer Lawrence played the character in 2011’s “X-Men: First Class”, 2014’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and 2016’s “X-Men: Apocalypse”.
“Another one for the books!! What a night,” Kim’s bestie La La Anthony wrote in the comments section. Lil’ Kim also left a gushing comment that included love eyes emoji, fire emoji and a heart emoji.
When The Shade Room compared Kim’s Mistique to Saweetie’s take in 2020, a fan said, “kim ate it up LITERALLY . Both look great.” Another person added, “Kim actually looks like the character, but saweetie the sexy version.” Echoing the sentiment, one other wrote, “They both killed it but Kim ATE & y’all gone hate to admit that cause y’all don’t like her!”
Kim’s Mystique costume earned the opposite responses from Internet users who trolled her over her kids’ Halloween costumes. The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” alum was heavily clowned after sharing a picture of her children dressing up as ’90s music icons Aaliyah, Snoop Dogg, Sade and Eazy-E.
Some fans thought that the kids might feel forced to wear the costumes to please their reality TV star mom. Pointing out Saint’s apparent displeased face, one user wrote, “He looking like I wanted to be Spider-Man.” One other similarly said, “Bet cash they had no choice in what they dressed up as.”
“Uhm… they’re children Kim. Are you sure they don’t wanna dress up like minions or something? Just saying lol,” someone else added. Another comment read, “OMG, this is so sad! I can almost promise this wasn’t the kids idea. Minion, Batman, Fortnite etc just a couple suggestion. Look at their sad little faces.”
