Morocco’s local branch of the Judicial Police in Casablanca, in close collaboration with their counterparts in Laayoune, have succeeded in apprehending the primary suspect linked to a hit-and-run case that took place on Sunday in Casablanca.
The incident involved an assault and a deliberate act of running over a person with a car, tragically resulting in the death of the victim and severe injuries to their companion.
The suspect had immediately fled the scene of the crime, which occurred at a car park owned by a fast-food restaurant in the Ain Diab in Casablanca.
Through an investigation, the team of law enforcement officers, alongside forensic and technical police experts identified and recovered the vehicle used to commit the crime.
The investigation led to the arrest of the main suspect in Laayoune, along with his brother-in-law who is now considered suspected of being an accessory to murder.
Both individuals have been placed under provisional custody as the investigation proceeds. Judicial authorities will conduct an extensive inquiry overseen by the relevant public prosecutor’s office to unravel all the intricacies and uncover the true motives behind the incident.
While initial reports indicate a possible accidental dispute that escalated into a tragic crime, authorities are still pursuing the complete truth.
