Morocco’s King Mohammed VI was represented on Saturday in Ankara at the investiture ceremony of the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was re-elected to the helm of the state for a third term.
The Sovereign was represented by Speaker of the lower house of the Moroccan Parliament Rachid Talbi Alami.
In an earlier congratulations message to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his reelection as President of Türkiye, King Mohammed VI had expressed him his warmest congratulation and wished him success in his continuing efforts to lead the Turkish people towards further progress and prosperity.
The King also congratulated Erdoğan for earning, once again, the trust of the Turkish people, and expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation binding the two countries, “thanks to the common desire to strengthen our ties in all sectors.”
The investiture ceremony was held at the Presidential Complex in Ankara in the presence of several heads of state, and representatives of governments, legislative institutions and international organizations.
Earlier in the day, President Erdoğan took the constitutional oath at the Turkish Parliament, marking the official start of his third presidential term, after receiving the inauguration document from the Speaker of Parliament.
The Head of State, after he took the constitutional oath, visited the mausoleum of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. He then proceeded to the Presidential Complex for the inauguration ceremony.
On Thursday, the Supreme Election Board announced the final results of the second round of the May 28 presidential election, which showed that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was re-elected with 52.18 percent of the vote.
