After just over six months, the Graham Potter era at Chelsea is over.
The ex-Brighton man was relieved of his duties by the club on Sunday evening following a spate of tepid performances – the last of which being in a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
Who Todd Boehly will choose as Potter’s replacement still remains very much up in the air, so to help the multi-billionaire out a bit, 90min compiled a list of contenders.

1. Julian Nagelsmann
The name on everyone’s lips; and understandably so.
Julian Nagelsmann is one of the most highly-rated young managers in world football and, having recently been sacked by Bayern Munich, is currently a free agent waiting for the right job to come up.
Tottenham have been linked, but a move to Chelsea makes a lot more sense for Nagelsmann who seems ready for a move to one of the Premier League’s big boys.
2. Mauricio Pochettino
The ex-Tottenham manager has been out of work since the end of the 2021/22 season, having being let go by Paris Saint-Germain.
While his stock is a lot lower than it was back in 2019 after Tottenham’s miracle run to the UEFA Champions League final, Poch could still be an interesting option for Boehly and co. to explore.
His teams play stunning football when at their best, and after season of dire games at Stamford Bridge, that’s exactly what Chelsea fans are craving.
3. Luis Enrique
Another free agent, the name ‘Luis Enrique’ won’t enthuse Chelsea fans in the way it might’ve after his successful tenure at Barcelona.
The slow, methodical, rather aimless, football Enrique’s Spain played the World Cup is probably the last thing the Blues faithful want to see between now and the end of the season.
4. Zinedine Zidane
Zidane was seemingly holding out for the France national team job until Didier Deschamps decided to stay put after an impressive World Cup.
Now, he’s on the lookout for a job elsewhere, and that elsewhere could be west London.
The ex-Real Madrid manager is big name and his man-management skills are damn near legendary at this point – having guided Los Blancos to three UEFA Champions League triumphs.
5. Ruben Amorim
90min understands thatRuben Amorim was high up on Chelsea’s list when they decided to sack Thomas Tuchel.
Eventually they appointed Graham Potter, but Amirom could be right back near the top of the list once again now that Potter has been sacked too.
