One person was shot dead with several others sustaining various degrees of injuries during the anti-government protest called by Azimio Leaders in Kenya’s Kisumu County.
The male youth was shot dead in Kondele area by the officers who were engaging the public in running battles as the public pelted them with stones.
While confirming the incident, the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital CEO George Rae said the body had gunshot wounds.p
He said the officer while in their Landcruiser brought the body to the hospital morgue and dumped it there.
Rae said the officers did not utter any word and just left.
The police did not answer our calls and messages at the time of going to press.

The police continued to engage the locals in running battles as they lobby teargas canisters at them.
Several people were also arrested during the Monday protests.
The demos had earlier in the morning been led by Kisumu County leadership which included Governor Anyang Nyong’o and his deputy Mathew Owili, Kisumu Central Mp amongst other local leaders.
As the demos started, the governor held roadside addresses where alongside other leaders they urged residents to turn out in numbers.
Kisumu had been peaceful for the better part of the morning before residents later started engaging the police in running battles.
Most busy streets remain deserted as businesses remained closed in the city that is an Opposition stronghold.
