The fashion show provided a platform for emerging Moroccan fashion designers to showcase their creativity, celebrate their cultural roots, and inspire the audience with their exceptional talent.

Casablanca, arguably the heart of Moroccan creativity, came alive with glitz late on this past Friday as the 34th edition of the Révélations fashion show took off with glamour and creative energy. 

With esteemed guests such as representatives from the embassy of Canada in Rabat, the Moroccan Minister of Education, and the directors of LaSalle College Morocco in attendance, the event showcased the incredible talents of Moroccan fashion students who were graduating from LaSalle College after three years of immersion in, and preparation to, the intricacies and demands of the fashion world.

From vibrant traditional ensembles to futuristic designs, the graduating students’ presentations of their work captivated the audience, including enthusiastic children who had the opportunity to participate as models.

Organized by College LaSalle and sponsored by multiple entities, the highly anticipated Révélations fashion show unfolded on a remarkable Friday evening. Influencers, designers, and fashion enthusiasts from all walks of life gathered to witness the culmination of three years of hard work and creativity by the talented graduating students.

The event kicked off with an eloquent spokesperson introducing the proceedings, followed by the stirring rendition of the Moroccan national anthem. In his opening address, the president of LCI Foundation extended heartfelt gratitude to the individuals who played a vital role in organizing the event. The Minister of Education, recognizing the efforts of the students and their parents, commended their dedication and emphasized the importance of nurturing artistic growth in Morocco.

The Révélations 2023 fashion show.

Madame Bouchrabi, the General Director of LCI and LaSalle College, spoke passionately about the theme of the event, emphasizing its celebration of Moroccan stories, both past and future. The show aimed to recreate the excitement Moroccans experienced during the World Cup, as well as to highlight the rich cultural heritage and artistic prowess of the nation.

The first show, “Hikayat Maghribiya,” showcased colorful Moroccan-inspired clothing, capturing the essence of the country’s vibrant culture. Models gracefully walked the runway adorned in traditional garments infused with modern twists, leaving the audience in awe of the intricate details and craftsmanship.

A fusion of comfort and style

The second show took the audience on a journey into the realm of avant-garde fashion. Bold and unconventional designs, featuring unconventional silhouettes, experimental fabrics, and unexpected pairings, pushed the boundaries of creativity and challenged traditional norms. The graduating students’ innovative creations elicited a sense of awe and admiration from the attendees, showcasing their fearlessness in pushing the limits of fashion.

“Free Sport-Style,” the third show, combined athletic influences with contemporary fashion, resulting in a fusion of comfort and style. Sportswear-inspired outfits in vibrant colors and sleek designs dominated the runway, reflecting the growing trend of athleisure and the seamless integration of sports and fashion.

The fourth show, “Generation Alpha,” explored futuristic designs, incorporating innovative materials and cutting-edge techniques. The students demonstrated their keen understanding of technology’s influence on fashion, presenting garments that seamlessly blended fashion and function. The audience marveled at the imaginative designs that embraced sustainability and reflected a vision of fashion for the future.

“Vision 2.0.,” the fifth show, took the audience on a journey through bold and visionary designs. The students’ creativity and avant-garde sensibilities were on full display as they presented boundary-pushing concepts and daring aesthetics. From conceptual art pieces to sculptural garments, the runway transformed into a gallery of wearable art, leaving spectators captivated by the students’ artistic genius.

“Make it VIP” followed, with the sixth show bringing a touch of glamour to the runway, with luxurious and elegant ensembles that exuded sophistication.

Notable figures from the fashion industry also graced the event with their presence. Miss Arab USA 2022, Marwa Lahlou, expressed her excitement at witnessing the exceptional collections crafted by young Moroccan designers. Lina Yahyaoui, a prominent fashion enthusiast, praised the unique sense of art and the impeccable showcase of Moroccan fashion displayed throughout the event.

The seventh show, “Pastel Men Talk,” celebrated the blending of pastel tones with masculine aesthetics, breaking gender norms and promoting inclusivity. Lastly, the eighth show, “Traditional/Marriage,” paid homage to Morocco’s rich traditions and cultural heritage, presenting breathtaking bridal designs that embodied the essence of timeless elegance.

As the grand finale approached, the students were honored and celebrated, their talent and hard work applauded by the captivated audience. The joyous atmosphere enveloped the venue as everyone joined in a spirited dance to celebrate the success of the event and the tremendous achievements of the students.

The Révélations 34th edition provided a platform for emerging Moroccan fashion designers to showcase their creativity, celebrate their cultural roots, and inspire the audience with their exceptional talent. As the lights dimmed and the curtain fell, the echoes of this unforgettable event will surely continue to resonate.
