At least one member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) has been killed while four others sustained various degrees of injuries in a midnight raid by the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP), in Benisheik, a village in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to media reports, the insurgents sneaked into the town on motorcycles at about 3:30 am on Monday before engaging security agents in a heavy gun battle.
Details of the attack are still sketchy, but this newspaper gathered that the terrorists of the Boko Haram splinter overpowered security personnel, killing one of them. They then proceeded to set ablaze four patrol vehicles.
