On November 30, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will inaugurate the African Club Association (ACA) in Cairo, Egypt.
Distinguished figures from African football clubs, including senior executives and club chairpersons, are expected to attend the launch at Marriot Mena House, Cairo.
The event will feature delegations and the presence of Caf President Patrice Motsepe. Following the ACA meeting, a live-streamed press conference will take place, where Motsepe and ACA members will address the audience on Caf platforms.
The primary goal of the African Club Association is to unite stakeholders across the African football landscape, promoting collaboration, innovation, and excellence in the continent’s club football realm.
The inaugural meeting between African clubs and President Motsepe occurred on October 5, 2023. During this meeting, Motsepe briefed African Club Chairmen on the establishment of the ACA, emphasizing objectives such as safeguarding and advancing the interests of African football clubs.
The ACA is committed to ensuring the commercial viability, global competitiveness, and profitability of African football clubs. It will also focus on ensuring that referees, match commissioners, and VAR operators are respected, credible, independent, and world-class.
Furthermore, the ACA will undertake the responsibility of forming partnerships with sponsors, the private sector, and governments to construct stadiums that comply with CAF and FIFA standards. This includes developing other football infrastructure and facilities in each of the 54 CAF Member Associations.
