President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has expressed unwavering belief in the participation of African representatives Morocco, Zambia, and South Africa in the Women’s World Cup, generating hope and excitement across the continent.
Motsepe’s message to the African Women’s teams was filled with encouragement and belief in their abilities.
He stated that he is immensely proud of their participation in the prestigious tournament and has high hopes that these three African representatives will make the continent proud of its women’s football, just as was the case with the outstanding performance of the male teams in the previous World Cup held in Qatar, where the Moroccan team created history.
Morocco is in Group H alongside Germany, South Korea, and Costa Rica. This challenging group will test the Atlas Lionesses’ mettle against strong opponents from different continents. Zambia, on the other hand, is in Group B, competing alongside Spain, Japan, and Costa Rica. South Africa, the third African representative, is positioned in Group G alongside Italy, Argentina, and Sweden.
The CAF President also extended his gratitude to the host countries, Australia and New Zealand, for providing a platform for the world to witness the remarkable progress of women’s football in Africa. The tournament promises to be an exciting and competitive event, with fans eagerly awaiting to see their favourite teams in action.
As the competition advances, the eyes of the African continent will be firmly fixed on Morocco, Zambia, and South Africa, cheering them on with unwavering support and enthusiasm. The hope is these teams will continue to make history and inspire future generations of African female footballers to pursue their dreams with determination and passion.
