The English Premier League club Manchester United is reportedly preparing to sign Fiorentina’s midfielder Sofyan Amrabat before the end of the current summer transfer window.
Having recently signed Inter Milan’s goalkeeper Andre Onana, the English club now wants to focus their attention on Sofyan Amrabat, who has made his decision to leave Fiorentina in the current transfer window, the Italian sports website La Gazzetta dello Sport reported today.
While the English club is currently “ready to attack” the signing of the Moroccan international, the Serie A team is willing to discuss his exit for €25–30 million.
Following the denial of speculations of an offer from Manchester United, Fiorentina is said to have asked the Atlas Lion to focus on beginning the season with them.
Joe Barone, general manager of the Italian team, has addressed the future of the Moroccan midfielder, assuring the Viola supporters that Amrabat is not planning to leave.
“Amrabat is very attached to the team and to me too. We speak in English and talk almost every day. For the moment, nothing official has happened. I told him to come here concentrated because he’s a Fiorentina player,” Barone told Sky Sport Italia.
Amrabat has earned a reputation as one of the best midfielders in Serie A since moving to Hellas Verona from the Belgian team Club Brugge in 2019.
He initially joined Hellas Veron on loan before his impressive performance convinced the Italian club to make the move permanent. After impressing with Verona, he joined Fiorentina playing a key role in the Italian club’s run to the Europa Conference League and the Coppa Italia finals last season.
Amrabat also showcased his outstanding talent on the global stage at the 2022 World Cup, where he was crucial to Morocco’s progression to the semifinals.
