The former Commissioner of the Ethiopian Cooperative Commission has died, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has announced.
In a statement, Mr Abiy expressed his “sadness at the passing away” of the ex-commissioner.
“My condolences to his family, colleagues, and friends,” the prime minister said.
No further details about the identity of the former commissioner or the circumstances of their death have been released.
The Ethiopian Cooperative Commission oversees cooperative societies in the country, which play a significant role in its economy, particularly in rural areas.
