Egyptian national team skipper Mohamed Salah has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract with Premier League giants Liverpool.
Salah joined Liverpool from Serie A side AS Roma back in 2017, and since then, he’s been making history with the team.
During his five years in Anfield, he helped his team collect a number of major trophies, including their first Premier League coronation in 30 years and their first UCL victory in 15 years.
He has also become Liverpool’s ninth top scorer of all time, netting 156 goals in 254 games across all competitions despite playing on the wing.
Moreover, he won three Premier League Golden Boot awards in his five-year stay, alongside a Playmaker of the Year trophy that he won last season.
Despite all that, Salah’s future was in doubt with his contract ending by the end of next season, and rumors started to emerge about a possible departure.
However, today Liverpool officially announced that an agreement was reached between the club and Salah as he signed a new three-year contract.

The Egyptian’s new wage is reportedly higher than £350k a week, which is a massive improvement to his previous contract (£200k a week) wage.
Speaking to Liverpool official website after the contract renewal, Salah expressed his happiness and excitement for the future challenges with the Reds.
“I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone,” No.11 said.
“It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.
“I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going [upwards]. Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies.
“I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.”
