Morocco’s Elements of the prefectural service of the judicial police in Rabat arrested on Tuesday three people, including the manager of a hairdressing salon, his foreign wife, and an employee.
These were suspected of identity theft regulated by law, unauthorized practice of medicine, and endangering the health of citizens, indicated a security source.
The same source specified that the Rabat Police Department opened a judicial inquiry following a complaint filed by a professional order of doctors accusing a foreign national of usurping the identity of a doctor and carrying out medical operations in conditions that did not respect hygienic standards.
Research and investigations carried out led to the immediate arrest of the suspect when she was performing filler injections on a woman in a hairdressing salon, as well as the suspect’s husband and the employee.
The search carried out in the hairdressing salon resulted in the seizure of 48 boxes of different types of injections, and 76 other injections that were out of date.
The arrested couple remains in police custody, while the employee is subject to the judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, to determine details of this case, as well as all the criminal acts alleged against the suspects.
This is one of several cases of this nature in recent months. Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) announced in May the arrest of seven individuals for their alleged involvement in forgery, fraud, and unauthorized medical practice in the cities of Meknes and Sale.
These individuals had previously been detained under anti-terrorism laws for their alleged connection with a criminal network specializing in the forgery and use of fake documents.
The network engaged in illegal activities, including stealing public funds and practicing the professions of doctor and dental surgeon without authorization, endangering the health of Moroccan citizens.
