The Moroccan U23 national team is set to play two friendly matches against their Brazilian counterparts in the Moroccan city of Fez this September as part of the Atlas Lions’ preparations for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The much-anticipated encounters are scheduled for September 7 and 11, with kick-off times set at 8:00 PM GMT+1, the Moroccan Royal Federation of Football (FRMF) announced today.

The tournament, which will take place between July 26, 2024, and August 11, 2024, will mark Morocco’s return to the Olympic football stage after their last appearance in 2012.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian U23 national team will enter the clash as the reigning Olympic champions, having secured the title at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Given the Brazilians’ undeniable prowess on the international stage, the upcoming friendlies against their Moroccan counterparts promise to be exciting matchups.
The Moroccan U23 team is currently riding a wave of success, following their historic win in the African U23 Cup of Nations.
In a thrilling final, Morocco defeated Egypt’s Pharaohs 2-1 at the Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat last month, clinching the tournament’s title for the first time ever.
The score locked at 1-1 after regulation time, with Morocco scoring their winning goal during extra time.
Besides Morocco, Egypt and Mali have also secured their spots in the Olympic Games as a result of their performances in the U-23 AFCON.
Meanwhile, Guinea has the opportunity to secure a place as the fourth African side at the Olympic Games in Paris but would need to win a playoff against an Asian opponent to do so.
