The Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared a state of emergency on food security.
Presidential Spokesman, Dele Alake, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing State House Correspondents.
“More funds would be injected into the agricultural sector from proceeds of the removal of fuel subsidy”, Dele Alake is quoted by Voice of Nigeria news portal.
The Presidential aide also said that security agencies would ensure farmers are protected on their farms, to boost food supply.
He said the steps were taken by the Nigerian leader to address the problem of shortage of food in all parts of the country.
