Accra, Ghana – The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Ghana has announced it will hold an Elective Congress on October 4, 2024 to choose new leadership after approving amendments to its constitution at an Extraordinary General Assembly on Saturday.
The date for the elective congress was one of several key reforms ratified unanimously by over 20 member federation delegates at the special meeting held at the Airport West Hotel in Accra.
The General Assembly of the Ghana Paralympic Committee, Chaired by its President Mr. Samson Deen, formed a quorum out of thirteen to admit sports federations that successfully qualified the constitutional provision and Ghana’s Sports Regulations 2023 L.I. 2477.
Other major decisions included approving annual membership affiliation fees of GHS 1,000 to support the NPC’s management duties, as well as officially recognizing new para sports and their respective federations/associations in the country.
Amendments were also passed to Article 2 of the NPC Ghana constitution, covering sections 1 to 5 related to membership criteria.

“The decision by NPC Ghana members means an Elective congress will be held on October 4 2024. The Over twenty member federations unanimously endorsed the proposals for the elective congress.
“The membership also approved its membership annual affiliation fees of One Thousand Ghana Cedis to help the board in all its management duties.”
The October 4th Elective Congress will see NPC Ghana’s members vote for a new president and executive committee to lead the organization for the next four-year term starting in 2025.
Deen, along with Vice President Frederick Otu, Secretary General Peter Adjei, Treasurer Evans Yeboah and other current executive members, were elected at the last NPC Ghana congress held on July 6, 2019.
