It was a sight to behold at the Houphouet Boigny stadium in Abidjan as Ghana and Egypt played out an exciting 2-2 draw in their Africa Cup of Nations group stage match. With qualification to the knockout phase at stake, both teams came out guns blazing in a bid to secure the top spot in Group B.

The atmosphere in the stadium was electric right from kick-off. The stadium was a sea of red, gold and green as thousands of passionate Ghanaian and Egyptian supporters traded chants and waved their national flags. By the time the match started, the noise levels inside the 40,000 capacity stadium were deafening.

While the action on the pitch between Ghana and Egypt thrilled fans, it was the spectacular scenes created by Ghanaian supporters that truly stole the show at the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium. The action on the pitch perfectly matched the atmosphere in the stands.

A sea of red, gold and green descended upon the stands as thousands of vibrant Ghana fans came out in full voice to passionately support their team. The deafening noise levels were driven by the rhythmic drumming and singing from the Ghanaian supporters’ section, where fans wore traditional costumes and waved large flags in the national colors.

The stadium transformed into a kaleidoscope of color thanks to the regalia donned by the Ghanaian supporters. Many female fans wore elegant kente cloth dresses and headwraps, accentuated by shiny gold jewelry. Male supporters sported bright red, gold and green shirts and hats, creating a visual feast around the stands.

The stunning visual spectacle put on by Ghana supporters will live long in the memory for those fortunate to be present. Their vibrancy, passion and pride in their nation were evident throughout, turning the stands into a swirling pot of color.

While the result may not have gone their way, the Ghana fans won the battle of the stands with their sensational display of support.
