Popular Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has revealed startling details about how his ex-wife allegedly defrauded him of his properties.
In a sorrow-filled interview on national TV Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds on Sunday, Ike confessed to losing 80% of his assets from the painful divorce.
“I came back from America one day and everything I had as Emeka Ike was gone – houses, cars, investments. My ex had sold them all off and disappeared with the money,” the heartbroken actor disclosed.
According to Ike, his former partner manipulated his trusting nature and secretly made away with tens of millions from his properties while he had traveled abroad for film projects.
By the time the award-winning actor became aware of the duplicitous scheme, it was too late.
He said his former wife, Suzanne Emma’s allegations made him lose his properties and access to his kids.
Emeka Ike said he was shamed for what he didn’t do in his marriage crisis and was forced to take a break from acting to save himself from shame.
“Emeka Ike was depressed from some marital crisis and I was hiding, I was shamed for what I didn’t do. Sometimes, that’s the price you pay being large. I was depressed, criticised for no reason so I had to hide until I know what’s wrong with me,” he said.
While still struggling to pick up the pieces, Emeka Ike vowed to move forward positively by rebuilding his career. He advised fans against naive financial decisions and urged couples to beware manipulation in relationships built on lies rather than love.
The gut wrenching interview has drawn sympathy for the actor online.
