Spanish security services have arrested a man wanted by Moroccan authorities for attacking and subsequently killing a minor in 2012.
The suspect, along with two other men, killed the victim after attacking him with stones, news outlet Europa Press reported today.
The two other suspects involved in the attack admitted that the wanted suspect was the main perpetrator who threw the stone that caused the victim’s death.
The suspects alleged that the attack took place after the victim tried to “steal a goat.”
The suspect is now under Spanish custody pending extradition procedures.
“Through the Interpol Spain National Central Office, a request for collaboration was received for the search and arrest of a Moroccan citizen who was subject to an International Detention Order for Extradition (OID) by Moroccan authorities,” the news outlet said.
The murder took place in the city of Nador, in Morocco’s Oriental region.
The arrest came after security services were informed that the wanted 38-year old man could be hiding in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community Spain.
