Moroccan international goalkeeper Yassine Bounou has caught the eye of a number of elite European clubs, including Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to AS, the Sevilla goalkeeper could leave the Spanish club during this summer transfer window.
“At Sevilla, we know that serious offers for Yassine Bounou, who is set to leave the club this summer, will not be long in coming,” AS media said.
The outlet named Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur as two of the interested clubs. The Italian club is set to lose their starting keeper Andre Onana to Manchester United, while Spurs are also set to lose long-term captain Hugo Lloris.
The publication reported that Bounou’s club’s managers will demand at least 20 million euros in exchange for his release, adding that talks with interested teams will shortly begin.
“Bounou, 32, has become one of the best goalkeepers on the continent, as evidenced by his third-place finish in The Best, his brilliance at the World Cup, and his decisive role in Sevilla’s seventh European title in the Europa League,” commented the Spanish media outlet.
Several Saudi clubs, including Al-Nassr, have also reportedly expressed interest in the Moroccan international.
The Atlas Lions’ goalkeeper moved to Spain in 2012 from Wydad Casablanca, and first played for Real Zaragoza and Atletico Madrid’s reserve squad before joining Girona in 2016. The deal Bounou has with Sevilla runs until 2025.
Bounou’s performances at the 2022 world cup in Qatar were remarkable, especially against Spain in the quarter-finals. The 120-minute game ended goalless, but Bounou’s expertise helped him save Spain’s penalty shots, helping Morocco win with a 3-0 score.
