The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Morocco’s Local Organizing Committee have officially announced the six match venues that will host the highly anticipated TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024, scheduled to take place from July 5-26, 2025.
In a historic first for the competition, six venues will be utilized across Morocco – marking the first time more than three stadiums have been selected to host the prestigious continental tournament. This expansion reflects the growing stature and popularity of women’s football across Africa.
The tournament will showcase Morocco’s finest football infrastructure, spanning from the capital Rabat to the eastern cities of Oujda and Berkane.
The crown jewel among the venues is Rabat’s brand new Olympic Stadium, a state-of-the-art facility constructed to accommodate 21,000 spectators. Located near the historic Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, this modern arena will also serve as one of the host venues for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, which kicks off in December.

In Casablanca, two venues will welcome the continent’s finest female footballers. The Larbi Zaouli Stadium currently serves as the temporary home for Morocco’s football giants Raja and Wydad Casablanca while the iconic Mohammed V Stadium undergoes renovations ahead of the men’s Africa Cup of Nations. Following its own renovations in 2019, the stadium recently hosted matches during the TotalEnergies CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Père Jégo Stadium, also in Casablanca, carries significant historical weight. The 10,000-capacity venue honors former Morocco manager Père Jégo, widely regarded as one of the country’s finest football tacticians. Jégo’s legacy includes successful stints managing both Raja and Wydad Casablanca, as well as the Morocco national team.
Moving beyond Morocco’s economic capital, the tournament will extend to regional football hubs.
Moving beyond Morocco’s economic capital, the tournament will extend to El Bachir Stadium in Mohammédia. Built in 1954 and renovated in 2019, this venue serves as home to SCC Mohammédia and recently hosted matches at the TotalEnergies CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations, including the tournament final.
The eastern region will be represented by two venues. Honor Stadium in Oujda boasts the largest capacity among the selected venues at 35,000 seats. The stadium has become increasingly prominent on the international stage, hosting Morocco national team matches and serving as a neutral venue for other nations’ international fixtures.
Finally, Berkane Stadium completes the venue lineup. Home to RS Berkane, this 12,000-capacity stadium underwent renovations in 2017 and has since hosted both international matches and fixtures in CAF’s prestigious interclub competitions.
The 12 qualified nations have been divided into three competitive groups for the tournament.
Group A features hosts Morocco alongside Zambia, Senegal, and DR Congo, setting up an intriguing opening phase for the tournament favorites.
Group B brings together Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana in what promises to be a tightly contested group stage.
Group C rounds out the field with South Africa, Ghana, Mali, and Tanzania, each bringing their unique style and ambitions to the continental stage.
