Al Ahly have announced the departure of DR Congelse striker Walter Bwalya to Saudi side Al-Qadsiah on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
Following impressive showings with El-Gouna, Bwalya made a €1m move to Cairo giants Al Ahly in January of 2021.
However, the 27-year-old striker failed to replicate his scoring form with Al Ahly, netting just five times while making four assists in 31 games.
Still Bwalya helped Al Ahly retain the CAF Champions League in 2021 and was part of the squad that clinched the Club World Cup bronze medal in the same year.
However, after falling down the pecking order, Bwalya was sent on loan at Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor last September, but his time in Turkey didn’t go to plan.

Bwalya barely got any playing time, making just nine substitute appearances, and failed to make any direct goal contributions, therefore he decided to terminate his loan contract and return to Cairo, citing his ‘unhappiness’ as the sole reason.
He was then sent on another loan spell this time to Qatari side Al-Sailiya, where he had a better time, scoring four times and providing two assists in nine games.
But it looks like his time at Al Ahly has come to an end as the Reds decided to loan the player for a third successive time to Saudi side Al-Qadsiah.

Al-Qadsiah ply their trade at the second division in Saudi Arabia after finishing seventh in last season’s campaign.
The club had however won the Asian Cup Winners’ Cup back in 1994 as well as the Crown Prince Cup in 1992.
They will hope Bwalya can lead the back to the Saudi Pro League, having been relegated from the competition during the 2020/21 season.
