Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke has denied reports of his arrest on Monday, April 1.
The Nigerian star, in a statement on Tuesday, April 2, said he hasn’t been arrested in Nigeria or any part of the world for any crime.
There were media reports that the Timeless hit maker was arrested, the reports were not clear about the cause of his arrest.
“I want to assure my fans that these re- ports are entirely untrue. I successfully completed my scheduled shows in Uganda and Kenya and have since re- turned home to Nigeria”.
”I’d also like to note that I have never been arrested by anyone in any country for any crime in the world. Not my home Nigeria, my home America, or any of the hundreds of countries I’ve made home throughout my career”, it added.
The statement said he “find the fabrication of allegations of such international crimes extremely irresponsible regardless of the light of ‘April Fools’,” and his lawyer is considering legal action “against the media parties responsible for generating this misinfor- mation.”
