A new cohort of sustainability-focused startups from across the Middle East and North Africa have been handpicked to join the groundbreaking Mega Green Accelerator, an initiative aimed at propelling innovative solutions to combat climate change in the region and beyond.
Among the eight ventures selected for the prestigious six-month program are two promising Egyptian startups and one from Tunisia, chosen from a highly competitive pool of 363 applicants hailing from sustainable businesses around the MENA region.
Viridia Tech and P-VITA, both based in Egypt, along with Tunisia’s Kumulus, will join counterparts from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon in receiving vital funding, mentorship from industry titans, and invaluable market access to scale their cutting-edge climate solutions.
Spearheaded by corporate giants PepsiCo, SABIC, and AstroLabs, the accelerator seeks to nurture the region’s burgeoning climate tech ecosystem, fostering cross-sector collaboration and empowering a new generation of eco-entrepreneurs through comprehensive support and resources.

“Startups can act as epicentres of innovation, and reshape, disrupt, and define our future. The Mega Green Accelerator provides the incentive to bolster this through cross-sector collaboration and nurture the region’s next generation of entrepreneurs by providing the needed mentorship, funding, and market access,” Willemsen added.
The climate crisis has spurred a new wave of eco-entrepreneurs, and the Middle East is proving to be a hotbed of sustainable solutions.
At the culmination of the intensive program later this year, one standout company will be awarded a $30,000 grant to further propel its expansion and sustainable impact.
Viridia Tech (Egypt) – Offering a cutting-edge crop analytics platform tailored for industrial agricultural firms.
P-VITA (Egypt) – A biotechnology hub leveraging AI and IoT to produce natural raw materials for the cosmetics, food, and beverage industries.
Kumulus (Tunisia) – An innovative water-tech venture that transforms air into fresh drinking water through advanced atmospheric water generation (AWG) machines.
They join other startups from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and Lebanon for the the six-month programme.
