Seasoned actress Omuhle Gela, who plays the villainous role of Nomaswazi Magwaza in SABC1’s soapie Uzalo says the changes made on the show have helped the soapie gain more viewers. The show moved from 5.8 million viewers in May to 6.1 million viewers in June, according to Daily Sun.
The actress Omuhle Gela, who plays Nomaswazi credits Uzalo’s increased viewership to recent changes made on the soapie. She joined the SABC1 soapie in May to play the daughter of the show’s villain Ninji Magwaza (Thandi Nyandeni).
“It’s my first time being part of a show that is aired on SABC1 and it’s by God’s grace that I started with the biggest one. I believe that the recent changes impacted the numbers. We are picking up and it’s good.”
Gela adds that the teamwork between fellow cast members and the crew also helped.
“The cast members and the whole crew work together and they support each other. They welcomed us, as the new family, with warm hands.”
“The support from viewers is also amazing. I hope that the numbers will keep picking up.”
Omuhle also joined the show with popular actor-comedian Siyabonga Radebe, who plays her cousin Vika among others.
Fans of the show have applauded the actress for her role in the show and enjoyed her portrayal of the character Nomaswazi Magwaza.
Nomaswazi recently killed her late father’s frenemy Mamba, who assassinated him with Nkunzi’s help and stole his millions.
The TVSA August teasers reveal that Nkunzi will be furious when he finds out he’s got a new enemy. The teasers also reveal that Nkunzi will be killed by either Nomaswazi or Sbu, who regard him as an enemy.
Nomaswazi hasn’t told her family that Mamba met with Nkunzi (Masoja Msiza) before she killed Mamba and that she suspects Nkunzi is the mastermind behind her father’s death..
