CELE SAID 24 300 TYRES HAD BEEN CONFISCATED SO FAR
Police minister Bheki Cele gave an update early on Monday morning, saying there had been sporadic incidents, but nothing major has been reported yet.
“Police have arrested 57 people for charges related to public violence and intimidation.”
He also said 24 300 tyres had been confiscated so far.

Cele confirmed that there were clashes between police and protesting students in Braamfontein.
According to Cele, the minimum force was used by the police. He said stun grenades were used to control the protesters. Cele added that no rubber bullets were used.

In KwaZulu-Natal, EFF protesters have been seen moving in groups near the Oslo beach.
