Moroccan-English singer, songwriter and musician Zak David Zilesnick known as Zak Abel delivered a stunning performance at the King Charles Coronation Concert which took place on Sunday, May 7 at Windsor Castle.
The artist expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to perform at such a significant event, describing the experience as phenomenal and one that he will cherish for the rest of his life.
Abel shared a story on his instagram saying, “Well, just got home [from the concert], that was phenomenal. I’m going to remember that moment for the rest of my life.”
The singer performed the 80s classical rock hit “Don’t You Forget About Me” by Simple Minds with British classical musician and pianist Alexis Ffrench.
The audience was captivated by Zak’s musical performance, and his exceptional talent left a lasting impression on those in attendance.
“What a moving performance by Zak Abel – a hero to step in at the last minute and then steal the show! Beautifully sung,” a social media user said.
In a surprising turn of events, Abel has stepped in to perform at the concert after English singer Freya Ridings had to pull out due to being unwell. According to the BBC, a last-minute change of plans saw Abel take to the stage to replace Ridings.
The news of the change in lineup came as a shock to concert-goers who were eagerly anticipating Ridings’ performance. However, Abel’s timely intervention ensured that the show went on and that the audience was treated to the promised musical experience.

The Coronation Concert, which celebrated the crowning of King Charles and Queen Camilla, featured several musical performances by renowned stars such as Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, and Opera star Sir Bryn Terfel, among others.
King Charles III was crowned on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey, in a ceremony featuring thousands of guests and troops.
Morocco’s Princess Lalla Meryem attended the ceremony, as well as a VIP reception at London’s Buckingham Palace on Friday.
