The Royal Family and the entire Moroccan people have, on Monday, celebrated the twentieth birthday of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, a happy event reflecting, as usual, the real dimension of the unwavering and irreversible attachment of the Moroccan people to the Glorious Alaouite Throne, guarantor of the unity and stability of the Kingdom.
This anniversary recalls the joyous moments of Thursday, May 8, 2003, when the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced the blessed birth, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, of a boy whom His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, baptized Moulay El Hassan, in tribute to the memory of His August grandfather, the late HM King Hassan II, may God have his soul in His holy mercy.
The celebration of the 20th birthday of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan thus renews the immutable attachment of Moroccans to the Glorious Alaouite Throne through the oath of allegiance uniting them to HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, defender of the faith and guarantor of the supreme interests of the Nation and the citizens.
This happy event is also an opportunity to recall some of the main activities of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan who had obtained, in July 2020, the baccalaureate “international option”, field “Economic and Social Sciences” with first class honors.
On September 18, 2022, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan presided over the final of the first edition of the Polo Throne Cup at the Souissi Polo Club of the Royal Guard in Rabat.
On October 17 of the same year, His Royal Highness had chaired the opening ceremony of the 13th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show, held from October 18 to 23 under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.
One month later, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan had inaugurated, at the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat, the Exhibition and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization, placed under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.
On March 28, 2023, the funeral of the former president of the House of Representatives and former first secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), the late Abdelouahed Radi, took place at the Achouhada cemetery in Rabat, in the presence of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid.
HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan also accompanies HM the King during His various official activities. Thus, during the last twelve months, His Royal Highness was present at the Sovereign’s side, notably in the audience granted to Abdellatif Jouahri, Wali of Bank Al-Maghrib, who presented to His Majesty the Central Bank’s annual report on the economic, monetary and financial situation for the year 2021.
HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan also accompanied HM the King on the occasion of the commemoration of Eid Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi Asharif, the opening of the 1st session of the 2nd legislative year of the 11th legislature (October 14, 2022), and the audience granted by the Sovereign to the members of the National Football Team, after their brilliant performance at the FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022.
His Royal Highness was also present at the side of HM the King on the occasion of several Councils of Ministers and the launch of the national operation “Ramadan 1444”, initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity on the occasion of the month of Ramadan, as well as during the religious talks that the Sovereign, Commander of the Faithful, had presided over on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the religious evening in commemoration of Laylat Al-Qadr and the Eid Al-Fitr prayer.
Each of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan’s public appearances perpetuates a long tradition that aims to initiate and familiarize the Crown Prince with the responsibilities he will be called upon to assume within a society that remains attached to its values and its plural identity.
