Ghana has named a 20-man squad tasked with bringing football glory to the host nation at the upcoming 13th African Games.
The U20 national team the Black Satellite will represent the country as they search for gold in the quadrennial Africa tournament in Accra from March 8-24.
Head coach Desmond Ofei has put his faith in a blend of youth and experience for the upcoming men’s football competition in Accra.
The Black Satellites open their Group A campaign on March 9th with a mouthwatering clash against DR Congo at the Accra Sports Stadium. They will follow it up with games against Gambia on March 12th and Benin on March 15th, with all three group fixtures being held at the same venue.
The men’s football competition runs from March 8th to the 23rd, with the gold medal match taking place a day before the Games’ closing ceremony in Accra.
Coming into the tournament as the host nation, expectations will be sky-high for Ghana’s fledgling stars to deliver a memorable performance befitting the pedigree of the four-time African champions.
As the city prepares to embrace athletes from African nations, the Black Satellites have the opportunity to fuel the homecoming party by mounting a strong charge for glory over the next three weeks.
