In a heartening display of compassion and solidarity, the Achraf Hakimi Foundation has launched a humanitarian aid initiative dubbed the “solidarity caravan” to support the victims affected by the recent earthquakes in Taroudant, Morocco.
The foundation’s initiative comes as a response to the widespread destruction caused by the recent earthquake that struck the Al Haouz region on September 8, where numerous homes destroyed, essential services disrupted, and countless families displaced.
Recognising the urgent needs of the affected communities, the foundation, led by renowned Moroccan and PSG footballer Achraf Hakimi, aims to provide much-needed relief and assistance to those affected by the devastating earthquakes.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 18, the foundation announced it has deployed a “solidarity caravan” for a week in Taroudant, roughly 268 kilometres from Marrakech.
“This initiative aims to provide material, emotional, and psychological support for the victims, especially children, from October 18 to 25,the statement reads.
The foundation emphasised that it will organise workshops for children to express their emotions and share their stories with specialised experts.
Morocco’s international football star Achraf Hakimi launched the foundation in June 2023, dedicated to helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds with academic and sporting endeavors.
