Moroccan footballer Achraf Hakimi has announced the launch of the Achraf Hakimi Foundation, dedicated to helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds with academic and sporting endeavors.
The athlete announced the new organization on an Instagram post, writing: “Excited to present you the @achrafhakimifoundation, a meaningful initiative driven by the vision of empowering children to reach their full potential.”
“Focused on education, care and sport, we aim to provide young minds with the tools they need to excel and move closer to achieving their dreams,” he added.
According to the foundation’s official website, it will help children from disadvantaged backgrounds to fulfill their academic and athletic ambitions.
The foundation will offer grants and research to achieve its goals, as well as collaborate with other organizations to promote child protection associations.
More specifically, it aims to provide child protection associations with better equipment and facilities, and help them establish better after-school programs and support for those in need.
In the education sector, the foundation is set to provide schools with technologies to enhance the learning experience, establish afterschool programs, scholarships and foreign exchange programs.
It also hopes to be involved in vocational training, equipping training centers, attracting skilled trainees, and opening new training branches.
Lastly, the organization’s website also outlines efforts to enhance sporting infrastructure by improving facilities and training, as well as access to various sports disciplines and offering psychological and medical support.
Hakimi, who plays for French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Morocco’s national team, is regarded as one of the best in the world in his position as a left-back.
Recently, he was instrumental in Morocco’s run to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, most notably scoring a decisive penalty to defeat Spain and take the team to the quarter-finals.
