Four South Sudanese nationals living in the Al-Haj Yusuf refugee camp on the outskirts of the Sudanese capital Khartoum have been injured during an airstrike by the Sudanese army amid the ongoing fighting between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces.

Abraham Marko, the camp leader, told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that the falling rockets and munitions around the camp caused these injuries, adding that the lack of health facilities and the closure of hospitals in the area exacerbated the conditions of those wounded.

Marko pointed out that there is a lack of food, security and medication as a result of the war. “The situation is very bad and there is a lack of food, security and medications,” said Marko.

He further said that the worsening security situation around the camp has posed a great danger to the refugees and that the camp is being robbed by outlaws and gangs.

The camp leaders called on international organizations and the government of South Sudan to intervene to relocate them to safe areas, adding that the refugees do not have anyone to help them relocate.
