South Africa forward Percy Tau could reportedly depart Al Ahly and return to Anderlecht in the current transfer window.
Tau had completed a permanent transfer to Al Ahly from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer, signing a three-year contract at the Red Castle.
The 28-year-old had a good start to life in Egypt, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in 28 games for Al Ahly across all competitions.
His contributions have inspired Al Ahly to win the 2021 CAF Super Cup and reach the CAF Champions League final this season.
However, he has been going through rough form recently with the Reds, having not scored or assisted in the domestic competitions since November of 2021.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns has also been rumoured to leave Al Ahly after former head coach Pitso Mosimane parted ways with the club.
According to a report by Voetbalbelgie, Tau could be departing Al Ahly in the current transfer window with a return to Belgium in sight.
Anderlecht are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva as well as Al Ahly’s Tau.
Tau is no stranger to Belgian football having had spells at both Club Brugge and Union SG in the past while spending a season-long loan at Anderlecht a year prior to his transfer from Brighton to Al Ahly.
