Athletics Kenya (AK) has announced the trial dates to select Kenya’s national teams for the 13th Africa Games and World Athletics Cross Country Championships.
The Africa Games trials will be held on 5th and 6th March 2024 at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, according to a statement issued on Wednesday February 21.
The top athletes will be picked to represent Kenya at the 2023 Africa Games in Accra, Ghana.
Before that, AK will hold the National Cross Country Championships on 2nd March 2024 at the Kenya Prisons Ground in Ruiru.
This event will choose the Kenyan team for the World Athletics Cross Country Championships, set for March 30 in Belgrade, Serbia. Cross country is a strong event for Kenya, which has dominated global championships for decades.
With the trial announcements, AK has laid out its schedule for selecting Kenya’s top athletics teams for the upcoming championships.
The 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships begin on March 30 in Belgrade, barely a week after the end of the Africa Games in Accra which run from March 8-24.
