Head Coach of Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, Otto Addo has named his final 26-man squad ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The squad which is dominated by players based in Eaurope, is made up of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders and eight attackers.
As expected, two players from Ghana’s domestic league- goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim and attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh who play for Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak respectively, made the cut.
Uncapped Clubb Brugge forward Kamal Sowah was also included.
Meanwhile, Inform Lens midfielder Abdul Samed Salis also makes a return ahead of the global football festival which kicks off on Saturday November 19, 2022.
The squad is expected to start campaign in the United Arab Emirate city of Abu Dhabi on Tuesday November 15. They will engage Switzerland in a pre world cup friendly before flying to Qatar to complete preparations for the mundial.
Ghana will open their world cup group H campaign on Thirsday November 24, 2022 against Portugal before taking on South Korea four days later.
The Black Stars will then complete their group stage adventure against 2010 foes Uruguay on December 2.
