Afrobeat star David Adeleke, known as Davido, has announced the release of a debut extended play (EP) of one of his signees, Morravey, aka Ravi.
The song, titled “Ravi,” was released at midnight on November 1st after weeks of anticipation and teasers.
Davido had earlier released a short video where Ravi was having fun with her friend and where he was recording with her in the studio. In the clip, Ravi stated that her self-named EP summarises her life, where she was born, and her journey into music.
Davido, himself, had reflected on how he first came across Morravey through her enthralling cover songs and videos on the internet as he shared his admiration and support for her on Instagram.
“The moment has come for Morravey to shine”, he wrote in a touching statement, and her debut EP, “Ravi,” will soon be made public, he said hours earlier.
But with approximately 7 minutes to hit midnight, the award-winning star confirmed the song is “out now.”
The label, DMW, known for its knack for identifying and nurturing talent, has already thrown its full support behind Morravey, signalling a new chapter in its growth with the hashtag #DMW2.0.
