Award-winning Afrobeats superstar Davido took to social media platform X to deny rumors that he would be the headline act at the DLT Festival 2024 in Malta this summer.
The music festival, set to take place in June 2024 on the Mediterranean island, had prominently featured Davido’s name and image on the event promotion flyers and advertisements over the last few weeks.
The news that one of Africa’s biggest music stars would be headlining the European festival along with the likes of Odumodublvck, Amaarae, Shallipopi and others had created huge anticipation.
However, Davido directly refuted the festival’s claims by posting on his verified X page.
He used the face cap emoji, which is a popular Nigerian slang which implies that the rumors of his appearance are a lie.
The reasons behind Davido’s decision to withdraw from the event remain unknown. His management declined further comment on the matter.
