On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Egypt, Ambassador of Belarus to Egypt Sergei L. Terentiev held a lavish reception party at a luxurious hotel in Garden City on 3 July.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and acting Minister of Health Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar together with the ambassadors of Russia, Serbia, Vietnam, Cuba, Mexico, Armenia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, and Venezuela.
Also attending were Hossam Aboul-Saoud, chairperson of the Board of Directors of Amazon for Urban Development; and Mahmoud El-Gharib, vice chairperson of the Board of Directors of Amazon Holding for Real Estate Development.
During the reception party, Terentiev presented a set of ideas to refresh bilateral relations, including fostering tourism cooperation and receiving Egyptian tourism in Belarus, which is characterised by great potential and health resorts.
“Belarusian universities also welcome Egyptian scholars in all disciplines, which contributes to the ease of communication for the opening of direct airlines between the two capitals — Cairo and Minsk.”
Terentiev also stressed Belarus’ interest in developing bilateral relations in all fields and that its fully prepared to sign cooperation protocols with the competent authorities in Egypt, especially in light of the support of the Belarusian political will after the visit of President Alexander Lukashenko to Cairo and meeting with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
