English Premier League new boys Luton Town is reportedly interested in signing Morocco’s Ryan Mmaee, who currently plays for the Hungarian club Ferencvaros as a forward.
Having been promoted to the Premier League this season, Luton Town is looking for a striker to bolster its forward line.
This interest is reportedly shared by the 25-year old player, who is keen to join a more prestigious league to improve his chances of returning to the Moroccan national team where he scored 4 goals and provided one assist in 12 games, Moroccan news outlet Le Matin reported on June 19.
After his professional debut with Standard de Liege in Belgium in May 2015, Mmaee went on loan to Waasland Beveren and AGF Aarhus before signing for Cypriot club AEL Limassol.
In 2021, he joined Ferencvaros in Hungary, with whom he signed a contract until 2025. The Atlas Lion has scored 13 goals and provided 4 assists in 36 games played this season.
Mmaee and his brother Samy Mmaee expressed willingness to play for the Moroccan national team earlier this year following reports that the two brothers had refused to play for the national team.
Samy, who plays as a defender for the same club as his brother — Ferencvaros, denied the rumor, saying: “We would like to clarify that these are pure lies peddled by several media that I will not cite, they know themselves.”
Ryan played an important role in the Moroccan national team’s World Cup qualifications, scoring 4 goals and providing 4 assists in just eight matches in what would months later turn out to be an incredibly successful World Cup journey for the Moroccans.
