Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has welcomed Bill Gates to the country, emphasising the ongoing support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in key development areas.
During the visit, the two leaders reviewed wheat cluster productivity and poultry farming initiatives, which Mr Abiy described as “a testament to deepening our partnership on Ethiopia’s determined path to food sovereignty”.
The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the foundation’s assistance in agriculture, health and financial inclusion programmes in Ethiopia.
“Always appreciate the great support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on our work,” Mr Abiy said.
During the visit, the two leaders reviewed wheat cluster productivity and poultry farming initiatives. Mr Abiy described these projects as crucial to the country’s development goals.
This visit marks another trip to Ethiopia for Mr Gates, whose foundation has been actively involved in development projects across Africa.
