Ghana Athletics has secured a major new sponsorship agreement with global sportswear brand Asics.
The multi-year deal will see Ghanaian athletes competing on the international stage kitted out in Asics competition gear and apparel through 2025.
It marks a big step for the West African nation’s athletics program.
The announcement comes just three days after the end of the 13th African Games, but authorities say the deal was “secured and unveiled before the start of the Athletics competition at the Games.”
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the arrangement with the Japanese sportswear company comes in as a boost as Ghanaian athletes will be provided with branded competition uniforms, training apparel, footwear and other equipment through 2025.
