The Deputy Minister for Finance, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, has given assurance that Ghana is prepared to host the 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
He made this known on Thursday in Accra, when a delegation from the bank officially informed him of the bank’s decision to hold its 30th AGM in Accra from June 19th to June 25th, 2023.
“The government is prepared to host the event, which is expected to bring over 3000 participants into the country,” he stated.
Dr. Kumah lauded the bank’s commitment to African values and emancipation.
He further assured the bank that the Ministry would accord it all the needed assistance, adding that the Minister was, particularly enthused about the bank’s overall commitment to the development of Africa.
On his part, the Director for Communication and Events of Afreximbank, Mr. Tito Alai, indicated that the delegation wanted to have an initial engagement with committees set up to start preparations for the AGM.
He expressed the delegation’s gratitude to the local team for taking it on a tour of the hosting facilities.
