President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana has arrived in Germany to participate in the Munich Security Conference (MSC), where he will lead crucial discussions on African peace and security.
As Chairperson of the Tana Forum, Mahama will spearhead a joint Tana/MSC side event examining “Deepening Global Fragmentation: Implications for Africa’s Peace and Security.”
The Ghanaian leader is also scheduled to contribute to the Leaders Segment panel discussion on strengthening the United Nations in an increasingly fragmented world, following the conference’s opening by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The Munich Security Conference, a premier global forum for security policy discussions, brings together heads of state, defence and foreign affairs ministers, alongside leading figures from academia, business, and civil society.
During his stay in Munich, Mahama will hold bilateral meetings with various heads of state and representatives from international organisations. Following the conference, he will travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union.
The president’s delegation includes National Security Adviser Prosper Bani, Secretary to the President Dr. Callistus Mahama, Presidential Adviser Joyce Bawah Mogtari, and Minister for Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
