Ghana’s national beach soccer team, the Black Sharks, have clinched their place in the upcoming 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after trouncing Ivory Coast with a commanding aggregate score of 10-5 in the qualifiers.
The Ghanaian side sealed their dominance with a 5-2 thrashing in the second leg, following an equally impressive 5-3 victory in the first encounter.
This qualification marks a significant achievement for the Black Sharks, who have shown remarkable improvement in recent years.
The tournament, now in its sixth edition, will be hosted by Egypt for the second time, promising an exciting display of Africa’s best beach soccer talent.
Ghana’s Black Sharks have previously participated in the tournament, finishing seventh in both the 2015 and 2016 editions.
They now make a big return to the continental championship, where they will compete against seven other qualified nations.
With this qualification, the team aims to improve upon their past performances and make a stronger impact in the upcoming championship, hoping to make successful campaign on the continental stage.
