Ghana’s Black Queens have completed their pre-tournament preparations and relocated from their training camp in Benslimane to Siaïda, where they will be based for the 2024 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The move comes four days ahead of the tournament that begins on 5 July.
During an earlier two-week training camp, the team focused on refining tactics and improving fitness, playing three friendly matches. They secured victories against Malawi (3-1) and Benin (4-1), before falling 3-1 to Nigeria.
The tournament, which kicks off on 5 July and runs until 26 July 2025, will see twelve of the continent’s finest sides competing across Moroccan cities in what promises to be a fiercely contested edition of the championship.
With preparations now complete, attention turns to their WAFCON campaign, where Ghana faces a challenging Group C alongside defending champions South Africa on 7 July, Mali on 11 July, and Tanzania on 14 July.
As teams now assemble across the host nation, anticipation continues to build for the premier women’s football event on the continent.
All eyes will be on Morocco from next week, as the best of African women’s football takes centre stage.
