Ghanaian Highlife great Abrantie Amakye Dede has added his voice to calls for the legalization of marijuana in view of its economic benefits to the country.
He disclosed that even though he didn’t like the illicit drug the first time he tried it, it’s imperative that government takes steps to legalize it.
“If they legalize it like it will be better. You see now in America, in parts of Germany and Amsterdam they have legalized it and they are earning money from it so in fact if somebody tells you Ghanaians should legalize the wee I don’t think it’s a problem,” he told Nana Aba Anamoah on Starr Chat.
Amakye Dede speaking on seeing people who smoke as bad people said “no, no, if you smoke wee you’re not a bad person,” adding that it will be good for musicians to smoke wee before they perform on stage.
There have been calls for the Government of Ghana to take steps to legalize marijuana in the country due to its commercial value.
A leading figure in this crusade is John Dumelo who believes that legalizing wee in Ghana will go a long way to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.
