Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel is “at war” after Gaza Strip militants fired over 2,000 missiles and infiltrated southern parts of the country.
In video posted on the Prime Minister’s page on X (formerly Twitter), wrote “We are at war.”
In a separate post, Benjamin Netanyahu said: “Our first objective is to clear out the hostile forces that infiltrated our territory and restore the security and quiet to the communities that have been attacked.”
“The second objective, at the same time, is to exact an immense price from the enemy, within the Gaza Strip as well. The third objective is to reinforce other fronts so that nobody should mistakenly join this war.”
“We are at war. In war, one needs to be level-headed. I call on all citizens of Israel to unite in order to achieve our highest goal – victory in the war.”
According to reports the attack has killed about 22 Israelis in early Saturday.
Israel Defense Force (IDF) in a statement said: “In response to the barrages of rockets launched by Hamas from Gaza at Israel, the IDF is currently striking Hamas targets in Gaza.”
The IDF added that it “is initiating a large-scale operation to defend Israeli civilians against the combined attack launched against Israel by Hamas this morning.”
The IDF has themed the operation as “Swords of Iron”.
In a viral video on social media, an entire families and car loads of Israeli civilians have been slaughtered in the most brutal surprise attack on the Sabbath when many Israelis were reportedly celebrating Shabat.
It is reported that Israeli Commander Nimrod Aloni has been captured by Hamas in the ongoing war.
Analyst say this is big since Israel is meant to be a big military force.
This shows the extent to which they are on the back foot and not ready to respond to this attack, and this also shows the extent of the Hamas operations.
Nimrod Aloni is the commander of the Depth Corps.
