Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has made a switch to Europa League winners Atalanta Bergamo Calcio ahead of the 2024/25 season, leaving Cagliari in the summer transfer window as exclusively reported earlier this week by Sports World Ghana.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder has been one of the standout performers in the Italian league since joining Hellas Verona in 2021, where he impressed for two seasons before moving to Cagliari.
His impressive displays helped both clubs avoid relegation, with a crucial goal securing Hellas Verona’s survival in the 2022 playoff against Spezia.
Sulemana’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with top European clubs taking notice of his talents. Atalanta have beaten the competition to secure his services, and he will join his new teammates for pre-season training ahead of a busy campaign that kicks off with a Super Cup clash against Real Madrid.
Atalanta will also participate in the UEFA Champions League after their Europa League victory last season, and Sulemana is expected to play a key role for the Italian outfit.
